Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation seeks a Staff Lab Technician for the Compression Engineering team at the Syracuse SITE design center. You will qualify next-generation compressor technologies by operating and maintaining test stands in a temperature-controlled lab, handling piping, wiring, leak testing, and data acquisition.

You will work with global engineering to perform tests under various conditions, collect data, and implement mechanical or electrical modifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with HVAC/R trade program or apprenticeship/workforce training.
• EPA Section 608 Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain medical clearance and certification to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles within 90 days of hire.
• U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove compressors from test stands.
• Fabricate and connect piping, wiring, and test instrumentation.
• Perform system leak testing and refrigerant transfers between stands.
• Conduct compressor testing under specified operating conditions.
• Collect and manage test data with data acquisition systems.
• Modify test setups per engineering instructions.
• Maintain and repair compressor test stands to ensure reliability.
