Job summary
Carrier Global Corporation is seeking a Compression Lab Engineer to join the Compression Engineering team at our R&D center in Syracuse, NY. You will maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot and upgrade test stands for compressor performance and reliability, working with mechanical and electrical systems and NEC/UL compliance.
Ideal candidates have an engineering degree and hands-on lab experience, LabVIEW/PLC know-how, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and technicians in a fast-paced
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in engineering/engineering technology with HVAC/R experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology is preferred.
- Hands-on lab experience and familiarity with test stands.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of calorimeter and reliability test stands.
- Maintain lab data acquisition computers on compressor test stands.
- Maintain and revise LabVIEW data acquisition software and PLC code.
- Manage and store test data generated from compressor testing.
- Collaborate with the compression engineering team to implement modifications.
- Guide lab technicians in operation and calibration of test stands.
- Develop and maintain lab process standard work documentation.
