Job Summary
Are you a meticulous and analytical lab professional seeking to advance your career in the pharmaceutical industry? Our client, a global leader in biopharmaceuticals, is building a talent pipeline and anticipates future Lab Technician opportunities to join their team in Social Circle, GA. This 7-month contract role offers an exciting chance to contribute to the critical quality control of pharmaceutical products. You'll be instrumental in conducting a wide range of biological, chemical, and physical analyses from raw materials through finished goods, and may also support environmental monitoring programs. This position is perfect for someone with a strong understanding of lab techniques and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance in a dynamic production environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute Critical Analyses: Conduct a wide range of biological, chemical, and physical analyses on in-process and final pharmaceutical products to support manufacturing facility production schedules.
- Ensure Data Integrity: Meticulously document and review test data, adhering strictly to good documentation practices, and accurately enter final data into LIMS and other computerized systems.
- Perform Advanced Assays: Execute complex biological and chemical assays, leveraging precise analytical skills and a solid understanding of biological and chemical principles.
- Timely Testing & Compliance: Complete all routine and special project/protocol testing efficiently and appropriately, ensuring compliance with company SOPs, product specifications, FDA, GLP, QSR, and cGMP regulations.
- Problem Solve & Improve: Investigate deviations, author comprehensive exception documents, and actively participate in team functions to address production challenges, increase efficiency, solve problems, generate cost savings, and enhance overall quality.
- Maintain Lab Operations: Perform general laboratory housekeeping, meticulously clean glassware and equipment, operate QC glasswashers, maintain and stock departmental consumable inventory, and conduct routine verification and cleaning of temperature-controlled units.
- Support Non-Batch Release Testing: Execute non-batch release testing, including raw materials and cleaning validations.
- Manage Documentation & Samples: Assist in the organization and archiving of departmental data, binders, reports, investigations, and retrieve and receive all samples into the QC Laboratories, accurately logging them into logbooks and systems like LIMS, EBM, and/or JDE.
- Support Stability Studies: Initiate and pull samples for stability studies as required.
- Waste Management: Ensure proper maintenance and disposal of waste generated throughout the laboratory.
Qualifications
Required:
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety procedures.
- Prior experience performing and analyzing analytical assays.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment, including but not limited to GC, HPLC, ICPMS, and other analytical instruments.
- Basic understanding of statistical methods and strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Good computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Proficient use of TrackWise, Empower, and MiniTab software.
- Proficiency in both manual methods and instrumental analyses.
- Proficiency in wet and instrumental methods of analyses.
Environmental & Physical Requirements
- Physical Demands: May involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to approximately 25 lbs.
- Chemical Exposure: Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, and buffers, which may require respiratory protection (appropriate PPE provided).
- Work Environment: Primarily inside working conditions, with some clean room and cool/hot storage conditions. May be required to work in confined areas.
- Schedule Flexibility: Must be willing to work off-shift hours or different shifts, and supplemental hours as necessary to meet work commitments.
Pay offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. In addition, Randstad offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, an incentive and recognition program, and 401K contribution (all benefits are based on eligibility).
