About The Role
The Laboratory Technician is integral to the proper evaluation and compliance of the facility's waste analysis plan. This person will be responsible for performing onsite laboratory and testing procedures. They will determine acceptable waste-streams and work closely with operations to ensure proper processing. We value this position as part of our facility operations team and is accountable for high quality standards and safe working conditions.
Position Responsibilities
- Calibrate all laboratory equipment each morning.
- Analyze and record all incoming samples and record results, hard copy and in computer system.
- Analyze and complete bench study (treatability) on each incoming load, to include new samples.
- Analyze materials received and compare to the profile.
- Maintain all lab equipment: GC, ICP, FOG and Flash testing.
- Keep the laboratory clean and orderly
- Assist with laboratory projects that result in improved cost, quality, efficiency, or other general process improvements.
- Become familiar with waste regulations, both local and federal.
- Communicate professionally with other Reworld department personnel, as well as regulatory representatives utilizing various media (MS Teams, email, telephone, etc.)
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- MS Suite experience required
- Experience working with non-hazardous and hazardous waste.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience preferred
Physical Demands of the Role
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
