Job summary

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Technician to test and monitor the quality of all products. The role involves coordinating with the Central Lab on product quality, obtaining and shipping samples, and reporting results to supervisors.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and one year of lab experience with basic chemistry; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and safety focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Tests and monitors quality of all products.
• Completes profiles on finished materials and product purchases and shipments per Company standards.
• Serves as liaison between the plant and Central Lab regarding product quality.
• Obtains, packages, and ships samples for testing to Central Lab.
• Submits test results to Supervisor, General Manager and Plant Manager.
• Ensures compliance with environmental, safety, and HACCP regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
• Performs quality analyses on finished products.
• Maintains lab, materials, and workspace in clean condition.
• Maintains safety as top priority per company safety rules and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Completes profiles on production finished materials and on product purchases and shipments per Company standards.
• Serves as liaison between the plant and Central Lab with respect to product quality.
• Obtain, package, and ship samples for testing to Central Lab
• Submit test results to Supervisor, General Manager and Plant Manager.
• Responsible for site inspections, sampling, log review & report preparation to ensure compliance in:
• Biosecurity
• Feed Safety
• Product compliance
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal environmental, safety, and HACCP regulations.
• Perform quality analyses on finished products.
• Maintains lab, materials, and work area in clean condition.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• One year prior lab experience required, with demonstrated understanding of basic chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relatable field preferred
• Work well with others in a team, management, and regulatory environment.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.
• Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
