Job summary

Darling Ingredients in Ward, SC is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for testing and monitoring quality of all products.

You will act as liaison between plant and Central Lab, handle samples, and report results, while ensuring adherence to safety, HACCP, and environmental regulations.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED and one year of lab experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred and Spanish language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• One year prior lab experience required, with demonstrated understanding of basic chemistry.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes profiles on production finished materials and on product purchases and shipments per Company standards.
• Serves as liaison between the plant and Central Lab with respect to product quality.
• Obtain, package, and ship samples for testing to Central Lab.
• Submit test results to Supervisor, General Manager and Plant Manager.
• Responsible for site inspections, sampling, log review & report preparation to ensure compliance in: Biosecurity, Feed Safety, Product compliance.
• Ensures compliance with local, state and federal environmental, safety, and HACCP regulations.
• Perform quality analyses on finished products.
• Maintains lab, materials, and work area in clean condition.
• Maintains safety as top priority in accordance with all company safety rules and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
