Job summary

Tradebe Environmental Services in East Chicago, IN is seeking a Depack Technician to assist the Depack Chemist with sampling, packaging and labeling hazardous wastes for transportation and disposal. The role operates on the 2nd Shift (12:00 PM – 8:30 PM) and starts at $19 per hour, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

You will de-pack lab pack quantities, obtain samples from drums, load and offload trucks, complete regulatory paperwork, and uphold EH&S compliance while maintaining a safe

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Hazardous waste experience is a plus.
• Forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• De-pack lab pack quantities.
• Obtain samples from drums and sample in-house created material.
• Load and offload trucks.
• Pour-off/bulk lab pack materials.
• Complete regulatory paperwork to ensure environmental compliance.
• Uphold EHS compliance and maintain a safe environment.
• Respond to spills and emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Depack Technician, you will be assisting the Depack Chemist in sampling, packaging and labelling hazardous wastes for transportation and disposal.

Key Job Responsibilities

• De-pack lab pack quantities.
• Obtain samples from drums and sample in-house created material.
• Load and offload trucks.
• Pour-off/bulk up lab pack materials.
• Complete all regulatory paperwork to ensure environmental compliance with all environmental regulations and internal procedures.
• Uphold Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance by ensuring all operations adhere to relevant regulations, standards, and internal policies, while fostering a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
• Respond to spills and other emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Do you have what it takes?
