Job summary

The Lubrizol Corporation is seeking a Lab Technician to support skin cleansing and hair care formulation work at our Ohio site. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to perform tests, maintain records, and ensure safe, compliant lab operations.

You will contribute to development of new formulations and testing methods, support inventory and SOP tasks, and communicate insights to project teams and leadership.

Qualifications

• H S or GED equivalent.
• Experience in formulation chemistry.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
• Strong organizational skills with multiple assignments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Commitment to safe laboratory practices and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to introduce value-added solutions for skin cleansing and hair care.
• Perform laboratory tests and experiments and operate equipment with minimal supervision per protocols.
• Troubleshoot routine technical and equipment issues to ensure reliable lab operations.
• Generate, organize, and maintain detailed experimental records and reports.
• Ensure safe, well-maintained, and compliant lab operations in your area.
• Support development of new formulations, testing methodologies, and documentation for global launches.
• Participate in lab management tasks including inventory control and SOP management.
• Communicate results and recommendations to teams and leadership, driving continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Lab Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, supporting the development and evaluation of new ingredients and concepts for the skin cleansing and hair care markets. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value‑added, sustainable solutions that enhance modern life. In this role, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to introduce new value‑added solutions for skin cleansing and hair care applications.
• Perform laboratory tests and experiments and operate equipment with minimal supervision, following established protocols.
• Troubleshoot routine technical and equipment‑related issues to ensure reliable laboratory operations.
• Generate, organize, and maintain detailed experimental records and compile accurate technical reports.
• Ensure safe, well‑maintained, and compliant laboratory operations within your assigned work area.
• Support the development of new formulations, concepts, testing methodologies, and technical documentation for global product launches.
• Participate in laboratory management activities, including inventory control and standard operating procedure (SOP) management.
• Communicate results, insights, and recommendations to project teams and leadership while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success

• HS or GED equivalent
• Experience in formulation chemistry.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams in an agile environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal to moderate supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to safe laboratory practices and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications That Drive You Forward

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field
• Experience within the personal care or beauty industry.
