Job summary

Lubrizol Corporation in Ohio seeks a Lab Technician to support the development and evaluation of new ingredients for skin cleansing and hair care. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable solutions that enhance modern life.

You will generate and maintain detailed experimental records, ensure safe lab operations, and contribute to global product launches through testing methodologies and technical documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in formulation chemistry.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to safe laboratory practices and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to introduce new value-added solutions for skin cleansing and hair care applications.
  • Perform laboratory tests and experiments and operate equipment with minimal supervision, following established protocols.
  • Troubleshoot routine technical and equipment-related issues to ensure reliable laboratory operations.
  • Generate, organize, and maintain detailed experimental records and compile accurate technical reports.
  • Ensure safe, well-maintained, and compliant laboratory operations within your assigned work area.
  • Support the development of new formulations, concepts, testing methodologies, and technical documentation for global product launches.
  • Participate in laboratory management activities, including inventory control and SOP management.
  • Communicate results, insights, and recommendations to project teams and leadership while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Lab Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, supporting the development and evaluation of new ingredients and concepts for the skin cleansing and hair care markets. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value-added, sustainable solutions that enhance modern life. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to introduce new value-added solutions for skin cleansing and hair care applications.
  • Perform laboratory tests and experiments and operate equipment with minimal supervision, following established protocols.
  • Troubleshoot routine technical and equipment-related issues to ensure reliable laboratory operations.

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • One to three years of experience in formulation chemistry.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal to moderate supervision.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Commitment to safe laboratory practices and compliance with quality and safety standards.
