Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a detail-oriented Lab & Facilities Support professional in Boston to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization across 2–3 active lab spaces. You will handle daily packaging, part post-processing, and basic assembly tasks to support engineers.

You will coordinate with vendors, manage shipments, and perform routine care checks on floor machinery. This role requires 42.5 hours per week, five days in the office, and a proactive, collaborative mindset to keep the lab running

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational habits.
• Comfort with hand tools, power tools, and basic physical assembly.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active on your feet during shifts.
• Proficiency with basic digital tools (Google Docs/Sheets or task management systems).
• Strong communication skills, high reliability, and a collaborative mindset.
• Interest in technology, engineering, or robotics is a plus.
• This role requires 5 days a week in the office and 42.5 hrs/week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization across 2–3 active lab spaces.
• Ensure tools and materials are organized, returned, and stored after team use.
• Handle daily workspace resets, including clearing excess bulk items, boxes, and materials to building recycling areas.
• Serve as the point of contact for daily packages, handling, sorting, and organizing incoming shipments.
• Learn the operating status of floor machinery and perform routine care checks.
• Coordinate with external vendor service representatives when technical servicing is required.
• Assist with logging spare parts, consumables, hardware, and shop supplies.
• Assist engineers as needed with light assembly, part post-processing, prototype setup, and basic task execution.
