Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Delivery Technician to handle laboratory equipment transport, setup, and on-site maintenance. You will coordinate deliveries, perform basic installations, and communicate with customers and service teams across Maryland, Virginia, and DC.

This role requires travel, a valid license, and the ability to walk long distances. Strong knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected, along with a safety-sensitive mindset and potential drug screening.

Qualifications

  • Trade school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Universal CFC certification.
  • Valid driver's license for at least 12 months.
  • No major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
  • DOT health assessment after hiring.
  • Ability to walk long periods; 50% of the time on foot.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight travel.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Safety-sensitive role; may require additional drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, load, unload, and prepare laboratory equipment for delivery and transport.
  • Relocate, assemble, disassemble, install, and reconnect equipment including biosafety cabinets and incubators.
  • Keep service vehicles stocked with parts and tools.
  • Handle pickups, returns, and deliveries across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC.
  • Provide professional customer service and explain services.
  • Learn site access and dock procedures.
  • Track job hours and manage service tickets.
  • Maintain organized loaner and warehouse inventory records.
  • Learn preventive maintenance procedures, equipment servicing, and safe tool use.
  • Coordinate delivery execution, testing of new equipment, and in-shop repair work.
  • Communicate with customers, Delivery Technicians, Service Managers, and others as needed.
