Job summary

McCormick is seeking a Lab Technician III to support product development, sensory evaluation, culinary, lab operations, and strategic innovation initiatives at the Technical Innovation Center in Hunt Valley, MD. The role will assist with the preparation, application, evaluation, and organization of raw materials, seasonings, seasoning mixes, sauces, and other products across McCormick’s U.S.

retail brands and categories.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 12 college credits/CEUs or 4 years lab experience in lieu of college credits.
• Strong PC skills and Windows experience.
• Experience in a food manufacturing or food prep environment; knowledge of food safety.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 10 lbs continuously, 20 lbs frequently, 50 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Gather raw materials and prepare formulas per project requirements.
• Apply products for tasting, evaluation, and development.
• Manage lab inventory and materials.
• Maintain sanitation and a safe working environment.
• Set up and conduct lab-level sensory evaluations.
• Support R&D initiatives and cross-functional projects.
• Collaborate with sensory, culinary, innovation, and marketing teams.
• Assist with product development for seasonings, sauces, and related products.
