Job summary

Zoetis is seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 to join the Global Diagnostics division in a full-time role. The position focuses on routine and advanced laboratory testing, sample preparation, and operation of high-throughput analyzers in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with veterinarians and medical staff to ensure accuracy, maintain quality control, and follow SOPs. The role requires 2–3 years of clinical lab experience and a degree or equivalent combination of education and work

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree required; clinical laboratory experience acceptable in lieu of degree
• 2–3 years of practical experience in a clinical laboratory
• Experience with hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, endocrinology, parasitology, and cytology preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare biological specimens for testing in departments including hematology, urinalysis, serology, chemistry, endocrinology, parasitology, cytology, and coagulation
• Operate high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment
• Set up and execute laboratory tests, review results, and release findings per SOPs
• Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on department analyzers
• Review daily Quality Control reports and weekly Levey-Jennings charts
• Handle and store biological specimens per SOP
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace
• Properly dispose of medical and biohazardous waste per guidelines
• Fill out laboratory logs and record-keeping logs
• Prepare specimens for shipment to offsite facilities per DOT standards
• Operate and maintain secondary lab equipment (centrifuges, pipettes, etc.)
• Understand and follow Zoetis SOPs and training modules
• Assist training of Lab Tech I duties and act as SME on projects
