Job summary

ZEISS in Saint Cloud, MN, is seeking Lab Technicians to perform routine production duties across various lens manufacturing steps. Responsibilities include receiving, inspecting, coating, tinting, assembling, packaging, data entry, invoicing, and equipment troubleshooting.

Positions require a high school diploma or GED, and 0–2 years experience for Level I, with higher experience levels for II and III. Benefits and overtime opportunities are provided by ZEISS.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED required for Level I.
• 0-2 years related experience for Level I.
• Level II requires 2-3 years related experience and 1 year optical manufacturing experience.
• Level III requires 3-5 years related experience and 3 years optical manufacturing experience.
• Must be able to read English and identify numbers.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and handle repetitive motions.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine production duties across lens production with attention to quality, quantity and efficiency.
• Complies with safety standards and reports safety concerns.
• Qualifies and inspects product to ensure CZV specifications and standards.
• Maintains written and/or computer documentation.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• Level II & III: Troubleshoot instrument/machine failures and perform repairs.
• Level II & III: Cross-train in other areas and departments.

We are seeking Lab Technicians to join our time. In this role you will perform routine production duties associated with the lens manufacturing processes.

This position will be assigned to one or more of the following areas:

• Receiving Lenses and / or Frames
• Inspecting lenses
• Blocking, Spotting, Taping and / or Foco
• Lens Coating
• Tinting
• Assembling Jobs
• Packaging & Shipping
• Entering Data
• Invoicing & Billing
• Equipment Troubleshooting
• Purchasing
• Reporting

Here’s what you’ll do:

Responsibilities for All Levels:

• Performs routine production duties associated with various aspects of lens production paying close attention to quality, quantity and efficiency. Refer to the Job Matrix for further departmental specifics.
• Complies with all safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership.
• Qualifies and inspects product to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.
• Maintains appropriate written and / or computer documentation.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities for Level II & III:

• Employs troubleshooting techniques to determine cause of instrument / machine failure and implement repairs where necessary.
• Cross trains in other areas and departments.

Do you qualify?

All positions require Level I:

• HSD / GED
• 0 - 2 years related experience

Level II:

• 2 - 3 years related experience
• 1 year optical manufacturing experience

The hourly pay ranges for these positions:

• Technician I, Lab $17.50 -$22.00
• Technician II, Lab $18.50 - $23.00
• Technician III, Lab $21.00 - $26.00

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
