Job summary

ZEISS is seeking Lab Technicians to perform routine production duties in lens manufacturing across assigned areas such as receiving lenses, blocking, spotting, taping, and invoicing. You will ensure quality, safety, proper documentation, and a clean work environment while adhering to standard operating procedures.

Level II/III include troubleshooting machine issues and cross-training across departments. Candidates should meet progressively increasing experience levels and be able to work in a

Qualifications

• 0–2 years related experience.
• Level II requires 2–3 years related experience and 1 year optical manufacturing experience.
• Level III requires 3–5 years related experience and 3 years optical manufacturing experience.

Job description

We are seeking Lab Technicians to join our time. In this role you will perform routine production duties associated with the lens manufacturing processes.

This position will be assigned to one or more of the following areas:

• Receiving Lenses and / or Frames
• Blocking, Spotting, Taping and / or Foco
• Invoicing & Billing

Here’s what you’ll do:

Responsibilities for All Levels:

• Performs routine production duties associated with various aspects of lens production paying close attention to quality, quantity and efficiency. Refer to the Job Matrix for further departmental specifics.
• Complies with all safety standards and reports any safety concerns to leadership.
• Qualifies and inspects product to ensure compliance with CZV specifications and standards.
• Maintains appropriate written and / or computer documentation.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities for Level II & III:

• Employs troubleshooting techniques to determine cause of instrument / machine failure and implement repairs where necessary.
• Cross trains in other areas and departments.

All positions require Level I:

• 0 - 2 years related experience

Level II:

• 2 - 3 years related experience
• 1 year optical manufacturing experience

Level III:

Years & Type Required

• 3 - 5 years related experience
• 3 years optical manufacturing experience

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities for All Levels:

• Ability to follow safety guidelines with the ability to identify and understand safety items
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task production environment
• Exceptional attendance record
• Honest, dependable and be able to follow directions either written or verbal
• Full knowledge of at least one department and basic knowledge of the entire lab

• Must be able to regularly lift 10 pounds. Must be able to lift 30 pounds in Surfacing.
• Must be able to excerpt up to 20 PSI with hands
• Ability to use of personal protective equipment

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
