Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant at the Springfield Cancer Center. You will handle specimen collection, assist technologists, and maintain inventory to support accurate lab results.

The role requires phlebotomy, strong customer service, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment. Travel to off-site locations may be necessary, with opportunities for professional development and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED is required.
• Associate degree in Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Collect blood specimens via venipuncture and transport to the lab.
• Assist technologists with instruments, reagents, and blood products.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and communicate issues promptly.
• Perform clerical duties including inventory checks and stocking supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
