Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for the Lima Medical Office Building to perform pre-analytical and analytical laboratory duties, register and accession orders, verify specimen acceptability, and conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection according to established procedures. You will also help with inventory, waived testing, and slide preparation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associates in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Collect blood specimens following venipuncture procedures.
• Assist with loading and maintaining instruments, preparing reagents, and handling blood products.
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and communicate problems to the team.
• Perform clerical duties like inventory checks and answering phones.
• Other duties as assigned.
