Job summary

Mercy Health’s St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH, seeks a Lab Tech Assistant to perform pre-analytical and analytical lab duties, phlebotomy, specimen processing and routine clerical tasks, supporting technologists and ensuring specimen integrity during transport.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in Biology or Chemistry preferred.
• Laboratory experience preferred but not required.
• Keyboarding or data entry experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel to off-site locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide courteous customer service.
• Collect blood specimens and follow venipuncture procedures.
• Support technologists with instrument setup, reagents, and maintenance.
• Identify instrument problems and communicate with the appropriate staff.
• Perform clerical duties such as inventory checks and phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
