Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a phlebotomist to join the laboratory team in Alabama. You will perform venipunctures, process samples, and assist with various lab tasks under supervision to ensure accurate results.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED and may accept candidates with enrollment in a Medical Technologist/Technician program, with related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant, or no experience required if enrolled in a Medical Technologist/Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS (CLIA '88) and OSHA standards.
• Performs venipunctures and obtains/prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists with clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision of a licensed medical technologist/technician to ensure accurate results.

Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks while working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/ technician to ensure that accurate, reliable results are generated by the laboratory.
