Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Phlebotomist/Lab Support role in Columbus, GA. The position involves sample processing, venipuncture, and preparing blood specimens in line with CMS CLIA standards, under supervision of licensed staff.

Recent graduates or those with 1 year of relevant experience may apply; enrollment in related tech programs can substitute for experience. No licenses required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist, laboratory processor, or laboratory assistant required, or no experience required with enrollment in related program.
• Enrollment in a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician program may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88) and other applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.
• Assists with clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision to ensure accurate, reliable results.

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks while working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/ technician to ensure that accurate, reliable results are generated by the laboratory.
