Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC in Lancaster, PA seeks a diligent laboratory analyst responsible for generating accurate, timely analytical data to support environmental decisions. You will perform QA/QC of inbound and outbound wastes and calibration checks on lab equipment.

You will enter results into an Access database, maintain a clean work area, and support routine tests including pH, PCB, metals, BS&W, and solvent analyses to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and routine sample preparation for tests including pH, Bench test water treatment, Total Halogens, Flash Point, PCB analysis, Metals testing, BS&W analysis, Solvent Scan, and BTU.
• Enter completed analysis into the Access database depending on waste type.
• Routine calibrations on pH meter and scale.
• Calibration checks of machines including GC, GC/MS, ICP, and flash point testers.
• Print lab analysis upon request.
• Be able to perform Proficiency Tests to demonstrate required capabilities.
• Ensure work area is clean, secure and well maintained.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the generation of accurate, timely and cost-effective analytical data used to support environmental decision making. Responsible for QA/QC of all inbound and outbound wastes. Also performs routine calibration checks on lab equipment. Maintains databases of all materials tested.

• Ability to perform analysis and routine sample preparation for a variety of tests to include: PH ,Bench test water treatment , Total Halogens ,Flash Point, PCB analysis, Metals testing, BS&W analysis,Solvent Scan, and BTU
• Enter completed analysis into database depending upon what type of waste tested (i.e. drums, bulk, outgoing, etc.). The database is an Access function.
• Routine calibrations on: pH meter, Scale
• Calibration checks of all machines to include scales, pH meter, microcoulometers, GC, GC/MS, Flash Point Testers, ICP for metals analysis, Calorimeter
• Print lab analysis upon request
• Be able to adequately perform Proficiency Test (PTs) to demonstrate ability to perform required laboratory analysis.
• Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
• Ensure that work area is clean, secure and well maintained
