Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join the provider care team, supporting reports, data and scheduling in the laboratory. You will collect specimens, ensure timely processing, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality and Mercy standards.

Excellent customer service is required for internal and external interactions as we deliver accurate lab support; a strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential to thrive on the Mercy team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or enrolled in a healthcare career program.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans.

Responsibilities

• Acquire laboratory specimens for testing with safe, accurate methods.
• Process, transport and refer all specimen types and reports as required.
• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support and good customer service.
• Observe HIPAA requirements and Mercy policies at all times.
