Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join the provider care team. The role supports reports, data and scheduling for the laboratory, and performs specimen collection with safe, accurate methods.

You will provide excellent customer service, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, and uphold Mercy Service Standards while processing, transporting and referring lab specimens and reports as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• Preferred: college level Chemistry, Biology or other Science courses.
• Preferred: previous experience in a clinical laboratory.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support for reports, data and scheduling.
• Perform skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens with safe, professional methods.
• Process, transport and refer all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required.
• Adhere to Mercy mission, values and service standards with all interactions.
