Job summary

Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, KS, is seeking a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to join the lab team. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen processing, and LIS/EMR documentation, with PRN shifts primarily 5 a.m. to 9 a.m.

This role supports a collaborative lab environment dedicated to excellence in patient care. Ideal candidates have less than 1 year of applicable experience and familiarity with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient samples according to laboratory policy, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Documents receipt of patient samples in the LIS/EMR; processes and prepares samples for testing.
• May perform and report basic laboratory testing, as needed.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform blood draws and process specimens. Our lab is a multi-disciplinary and collaborative team with diverse backgrounds and experience levels, which ensures our vision of being “The best place to get care. The Work

• PRN: as needed, but primarily 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. shift coverage
