Job summary

Saint Luke’s East location is seeking a Phlebotomist, Lab Support Technician to support our lab team. The role involves collecting patient specimens, documenting in the LIS, and ensuring samples are prepared for analysis.

Shift details include Monday, Tuesday 6:30am to 5pm and Saturdays 8am to 12pm. Experience under 1 year and ASCP-certified phlebotomy technicians are preferred.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience in phlebotomy.
• Phlebotomy Technician (ASCP) certification per ASCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Documents receipt of patient samples in LIS and prepares them for analysis.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
