Job summary

SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Jefferson City is seeking a PRN Lab Support Tech with phlebotomy duties in Jefferson City, MO. The role includes specimen handling, waived testing, and clerical support for the laboratory department.

Under supervision, you may perform phlebotomy and basic tests, assist in admissions and order entry, and support the lab team in a fast-paced environment. Daily Pay options are available to accommodate flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• One year experience in a laboratory setting.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs loading/unloading of lab specimens on equipment and waived testing.
• Assists in problem requisitions/specimens and may orient new hires.
• Answers phones and responds to customer inquiries while assisting patients.
• Collects, labels, processes and preserves blood, urine, and other specimens.
• Enters and processes lab orders in the EMR system.
• Cleans and maintains lab supplies and work area.
• Performs administrative duties including admission activities and order entry processing.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers while performing tasks.
