Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy program completion or certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn information systems: Centricity, LastWord, Horizon, Epic.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and completes order entry for Horizon-based tests.
• Performs ABN checks for Medicare patients and explains options.
• Answers the phone promptly and communicates clearly.
• Resolves problems and coordinates with the lab to ensure accurate data.
• Prepares service center for daily activity and completes paperwork.
• Delivers excellent client service and troubleshoots issues.
• Performs venipuncture and other specimen collection as needed.
• Maintains safety policies and records to ensure sample integrity.
