Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) to join the provider care team. You will support laboratory reports, data handling, and scheduling while ensuring accurate specimen collection and adherence to Mercy Service Standards and HIPAA guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 6 months of phlebotomy or clinical lab experience, with completion of facility competencies for advancement.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience required.
• Must complete facility competencies and pass checks for advancement.

Responsibilities

The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST II will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST II is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, As required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
