Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) to join the provider care team. The role focuses on accurate, timely laboratory support, specimen collection, data handling and scheduling, while delivering excellent customer service in line with Mercy Signature Service Standards.

The LST II will perform specimen collection using safe, accurate methods, support laboratory testing workflows, and help ensure HIPAA confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience or completion of a clinical training program

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, timely laboratory support, including specimen collection and handling.
• Support data entry, reporting and scheduling functions for the laboratory.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and observe Mercy policies and service standards

Job description

Find your calling at Mercy! The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) is part of the provider care team acting in a support capacity for reports, data and scheduling functions of the laboratory. This position is responsible for accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms. The LST II will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service Standards with all customer interactions. The LST II is responsible for the skillful acquisition of all required types of specimens, As required, for laboratory testing utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience: 6 months phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience of successful completion of a clinical training program.
