Job summary

Saint Luke's North Hospital is seeking a full-time Lab Support Tech for the day shift to join our team. The role includes collecting patient samples using phlebotomy best practices and documenting receipt of specimens in LIS/EMR.

Responsibilities include correlating specimens to orders, performing Point of Care testing as needed, and communicating with nursing staff regarding collections. 1 year of applicable experience is preferred; experience in a lab setting is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred.
• Collects patient specimens per laboratory policies and procedures.

Saint Luke's is seeking a full-time day shift Lab Support Tech to join our team.

Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy. Documents receipt of patient samples in Lab Information System (LIS) and prepares them for analysis.

Full-Time day, M-F, 8:30-5:00p, no weekends, perform collections at Bishop Spencer Place nursing home.

Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred

Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.

Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.

Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.

Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.

Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
