Job summary

Saint Luke's is seeking a full-time Lab Support Tech for day shift to join our team. Responsibilities include collecting patient specimens, correlating samples to orders in LIS/EMR, and performing Point of Care testing as needed. Strong communication with nursing staff is essential to ensure accurate collections.

Experience in laboratory settings and phlebotomy is highly preferred. The role is Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:00 with no weekend shifts, and involves on-site duties at the Saint Luke's

• Experience in lab work and phlebotomy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen collection and labeling per policy.
• Correlate patient samples to provider lab test orders in the LIS/EMR.
• Perform and report Point of Care testing as required.
• Communicate with nursing staff regarding collections.

• Full-Time day, M-F, 8:30-5:00p, no weekends, perform collections at Bishop Spencer Place nursing home.
• Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred
• Collects patient specimens in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.
• Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR.
• Performs and reports Point of Care laboratory testing as required.
• Uses education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection.
• Communicates effectively with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections.
