Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a part-time Lab Support Tech to join our team. The role collects patient samples, documents receipt in the LIS, and prepares specimens for analysis, supporting nursing staff and patient care.

The ideal candidate has less than 1 year of experience and is detail-oriented, able to perform point-of-care testing as needed. Shifts are 0600–1830, Thursdays and Fridays, with potential extra hours based on PTO/call-ins.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy and documents receipt in LIS.
• Correlates patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in LIS/EMR.
• Performs and reports point-of-care testing as required.
• Communicates with nursing and unit staff regarding patient collections.
