Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a dedicated phlebotomy and laboratory support professional to join our day shift. You will handle specimen receipt, phlebotomy, and data entry across HIS/LIS platforms, while delivering excellent patient and provider service.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, maintaining safety and accuracy, and supporting multiple lab areas as workload shifts. A high school diploma and phlebotomy certification are preferred, with BLS required on hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• BLS certification is expected upon hire or within onboarding.
• Phlebotomy experience and familiarity with laboratory workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens in the lab to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection with proper patient identification and safety.
• Provide customer service to patients and care providers and resolve issues per guidelines.
• Enter orders and manage data across HIS/LIS systems and reference labs.
• Assist with teaching and onboarding of new staff as needed.
