Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare's Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, CO is seeking an experienced Lab Support Assistant to join a dynamic laboratory team. You will perform waived and moderately complex testing, manage specimens in EMR/LIS, and assist in training new staff.

This role emphasizes leadership, process improvement, and compassionate patient communication, with a 1:00pm–9:30pm shift and a 40-hour workweek. Prior clinical lab experience and ASCP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated prior experience in clinical or pathology lab assistant role.
• Experience teaching Laboratory testing concepts to others.
• Customer service experience.
• Laboratory testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the department.
• Perform waived and moderately complex diagnostic testing.
• Maintain competency in EMR and LIS to manage orders and track specimens.
• Route and label specimens and query test results.
• Train and orient new caregivers.
• Assist in schedule management and shift coverage.
• Lead process improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
