Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team in Vancouver, WA. You will oversee all lab areas, supervise staff, ensure tests are performed accurately, and maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP and state regulations.

Working Monday to Friday, 1:00PM-9:30PM, you will mentor personnel, manage workflow, and drive continuous process improvements while maintaining quality assurance records and payroll documentation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist/Technologist, with generalist experience.
  • ASCP or AMT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing all areas the lab including pre-analytical and analytical.
  • Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
  • Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
  • Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverage
  • Responsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
  • Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
  • Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
  • Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
  • Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
  • Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
  • Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
  • Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
  • Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
  • Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
  • Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
  • Perform administrative duties as needed

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday 1:00PM-9:30PM

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • 4+ years of experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist/Technologist, with generalist experience
Preferred Qualification
  • 1 year or more of previous supervisor/leadership experience
  • 1 year or more generalist lab background with experience in Chemistry, Hematology, and Urinalysis
  • ASCP or AMT certification
Additional Job Standards
  • Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
  • Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Salary Range: $ 65,000-$120,000 annually

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
