Job summary

Labcorp in San Leandro, CA is seeking a Lab Supervisor to lead daily operations in the department and ensure accurate, timely test results. The role requires a Bachelor's in a chemical/biological science, CA CLS license, 5+ years as a technologist, and 2+ years of leadership.

You will supervise staff, maintain QA records, coordinate workflow, and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP and state regulations while mentoring team members and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• CA State CLS license required.
• 2+ years of leadership experience preferred.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Supervisor to join our team in SanLeandro, CA. Work Schedule: 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday 11:30pm - 8:00pm

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise the day to day operations of the Department/Lab Name department
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely manner
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department
• Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffed
• Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
• Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
• Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality Control
• Prepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documents
• Evaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendations
• Meet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development
• Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operations
• Ensure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulations
• Responsible for administering and managing policies and procedures
• Process and maintain payroll and personnel files
• Perform administrative duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
• 5 years or more of experience as a Technologist/Technician
• CA State CLS license required
• 2 years or more of leadership experience

Preferred Qualification

• Current or prior Labcorp experience
• ASCP or AMT certification

Additional Job Standards

• Strong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulations
• Previous supervisor/leadership experience
• Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
• Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Comfortability making decisions in a changing environment
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

**Pay Range: $100,000 - $165,000 annually All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

• Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
• Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
