Actalent is hiring a Specimen Processing Clerk in Whittier, CA. This entry-level role supports high-volume lab operations by receiving, processing, and routing specimens and registering them in LIS systems (EMD, Sunquest).

The position requires accurate data entry, professional customer service, and adherence to SOPs, with rotating weekends and holidays on multiple shifts. Primary shift times include early mornings and afternoon rotations.

Formación

• Entry-level experience acceptable; prior specimen processing or laboratory support experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail with specimens, paperwork, and data entry.
• Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Customer service skills including clear communication and professional phone etiquette.
• Ability to handle difficult callers professionally and calmly.
• Willingness to learn laboratory information systems (EMD and Sunquest preferred).
• Proficiency in data entry and specimen accessioning.
• Reliability to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Receive and process incoming laboratory specimens promptly and accurately.
• Load samples onto the automation line per SOPs.
• Register specimens in LIS (EMD, Sunquest) ensuring accurate data.
• Answer calls and provide professional customer service.
• Handle outpatient paperwork with attention to detail.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols at all times.
• Participate in daily endorsements and handoffs between shifts.
• Perform data entry and specimen accessioning precisely.
• Collaborate with team for efficient high-throughput workflows.
• Handle escalated calls professionally and calmly.
