Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or related clinical training preferred.
• 1-2 years of laboratory or healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

• Receive, verify, and process laboratory specimens while ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
• Maintain efficient specimen intake and processing to support laboratory workflow
• Ensure specimens are handled according to quality standards and patient safety protocols
• Perform clerical and administrative functions related to specimen processing
• Monitor and maintain laboratory supply inventory, ensuring materials are stocked and within expiration guidelines
• Assist with training laboratory assistants, students, or new team members when needed
• Coordinate daily workflow and assist with prioritizing urgent specimen processing
• Serve as a problem-solver and liaison when specimen processing issues arise
• Support laboratory leadership and medical directors in maintaining high standards of laboratory operations
• Participate in required competency training and quality improvement initiatives
• Perform other related duties as assigned
