Job summary

JLL in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Lab Planner to design and plan laboratory facilities, ensuring safe and efficient use of space and resources.

The role coordinates with lab managers, REWS, and vendors to develop supply/demand scenarios and hand off collateral to Project Management or MAC/Move teams. A Bachelor's degree and 5–10 years in interior design, lab space planning, or related fields are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; Interior Design, Architecture or related fields preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in interior design, lab/space strategy, or facilities management.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, CAFM systems, and space data management solutions.
• Proficient with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; project scheduling software (MS Projects or Smartsheet).
• Analytics experience with pivot tables; ability to analyze space solutions.
• Lab infrastructure knowledge: MEP systems and lab environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• No visa sponsorship; authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Portfolio Management; develop migration strategies and manage lab initiatives.
• Analyze data to identify trends in lab space allocation and usage.
• Create and deliver lab planning proposals outlining options and risks.
• Develop space layout options for critical lab environments and client approvals.
• Collaborate with Labs Engineering to assess power/HVAC capacity for new labs.
• Create space/occupancy planning collateral and templates.
• Ensure compliance with codes, fire safety and accessibility standards.
• Maintain planning standards, binders, and trackers; track deliverables.
• Coordinate with vendors and project managers for hand-offs and timelines.
• Keep lab infrastructure database and records up to date.
