Job summary

Ironside Human Resources is recruiting for an Assistant Laboratory Director for a hospital located outside Tallahassee, Florida. This full-time, temporary-to-permanent position leads Laboratory Services, ensuring regulatory compliance and coordinating with nursing and other departments.

The role oversees POC testing, prepares compliance reports, and develops staff schedules while guiding in-service education and professional development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree at minimum.
• ASCP, AMT, AAB certification required.
• Expertise across clinical areas with supervisor licensures.
• At least 1 year of laboratory leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and oversee Laboratory Services operations with compliance.
• Monitors POC testing activities and prepares compliance reports.
• Provide follow-up and support to nursing to ensure standards.
• Develop and maintain staff schedules; manage staffing needs.
• Assist with in-service education and staff development initiatives.
