Job summary

The University of New Mexico Taos Campus is seeking a Student Intermediate Level Lab Assistant to maintain the STEM 116 laboratory space. You will inventory lab supplies for BIOL 1140L, 2210L, 2225L and CHEM 1215L/1225L, and ensure the lab is clean and well organized.

Weekly lab prep and post-lab cleanup are required, along with completing purchase request forms and organizing STEM Outreach Fellow lab supplies. This role is ideal for a UNM-Taos student pursuing an AS degree or related coursework.

Qualifications

• Maintain inventory of lab supplies for BIOL 1140L, 2210L, and 2225L and CHEM 1215L and/or 1225L.
• Ensure the lab is cleaned, supplies stored properly, and organized.
• Weekly prep prior to lab for BIOL 1140L, CHEM 1215L, and CHEM 1225L.
• Weekly cleanup and restocking supplies after lab.

Position Summary

The Lab Sciences Lab Assistant will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory space in STEM 116. This includes the following:

• maintaining an inventory of lab supplies for BIOL 1140L, 2210L, and 2225L and CHEM 1215L and/or 1225L
• ensuring the lab is cleaned, supplies are stored in the proper place, and the lab is organized overall.
• BIOL 1140L, CHEM 1215L, and/or CHEM 1225L weekly prep prior to lab
• BIOL 1140L, CHEM 1215L, and/or CHEM 1225L weekly clean-up and restocking supplies after lab
• Completing purchase request forms for lab supplies
• Organization of STEM Outreach Fellow lab supplies

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of BIOL 1140L
• CHEM 1215 and CHEM 1215L or the equivalent
• Recommendation from a UNM-Taos faculty member
• Current UNM-Taos student
• Completion of BIOL 1140, 2210 or 2225
• Completion of CHEM 1225 and 1225L
• Associates of Science Degree seeking student
