Job summary

ALS is hiring a Sample Preparation Technician (P2) in Reno to work with client samples and prepare them for analysis in our labs.

You will perform ringing, sieving, crushing, and splitting under supervision, while maintaining production logs and ensuring basic lab cleanliness. The role requires general handling of materials, adherence to safety policies, and the ability to work both independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Good hand-eye coordination.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Basic alpha/numeric comprehension.
• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Ringing, sieving (including International Soils), crushing, splitting under direct supervision.
• Loading and unloading drying ovens under supervision.
• Maintain own production logs; general lab cleanliness and basic maintenance.
• May assist with layout duties/tasks.
• Handling compositing, screen metals, special handling requests, etc.
• Inspecting equipment and inform senior staff if adjustment is required.
• Observe safety regulations and ALS health and safety policies.
