Job summary

MSD in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a laboratory support associate to perform preventative maintenance on plate washers/readers and manage specimens under GLP/GCLP guidelines. You will prepare labels, transfer samples, and maintain inventories in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, following SOPs, and supporting on-call freezer monitoring while upholding safety and data integrity. A biology degree and BSL-2 familiarity are required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Biology or related field; minimum one year in a regulated lab or CRO.
• High School diploma may substitute with relevant lab experience.
• BSL-2 training required; GLP/GCLP training preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Aliquot and qualify samples according to documented processes.
• Document activities and records per GLP/GCLP and SOPs.
• Maintain sample management logs and storage conditions.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment including freezers, plate washers and readers.
• Prepare labels; handle transfers/returns with customers.
• Support inventory, equipment maintenance, and daily lab cleaning.
• Participate in on-call freezer monitoring and response activities.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements.
• End-of-day freezer closeout tasks and record keeping.
