Actalent in Richmond, VA is seeking a Contract Sample Management Coordinator to oversee receipt, tracking, storage, and distribution of samples and standards in a regulated lab environment.

You will maintain records, ensure traceability, and support CAPA investigations while collaborating with a small team of coordinators. This onsite role emphasizes safety, quality, and compliance in daily sample handling and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in sample management, inventory control, laboratory operations, or related field.
• Knowledge of inventory management and sample tracking processes.
• Understanding of laboratory documentation practices and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to follow SOPs consistently.
• Experience with Word and Excel.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, label, inventory, store, and distribute samples and standards per procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and track sample status for full traceability.
• Communicate sample status, issues, and updates to lab staff.
• Support proper sample handling, storage, and documentation practices.
• Review lab requests for SOP compliance.
• Assist with CAPA investigations related to sample management.
• Train lab personnel on sample management procedures and storage requirements.
• Respond to environmental monitoring alarms and participate in on-call support.
