Job summary

Eurofins USA Food Testing is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, validate, and implement engineered controls that improve safety and maintain process quality across our laboratory network.

The role focuses on solving real-world problems through design, prototyping, ergonomics, automation, and process improvements while reducing employee risk and supporting efficient laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and related field.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in equipment design, product development, manufacturing systems, process improvement, automation, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience taking projects from concept through implementation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with fabrication vendors, machine shops, equipment suppliers, or maintenance organizations.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through implementation.
• Create engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages.
• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions.
• Perform testing and validation activities to verify performance and effectiveness.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and refine solutions based on operational feedback.
• Support installation, startup, and deployment activities.
• Coordinate activities with equipment suppliers, fabricators, machine shops, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related course of study
