Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in engineering involving equipment design, product development, or automation.
• Experience taking projects from concept to implementation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem solving.
• Experience with fabrication vendors, machine shops, or maintenance teams.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engineering controls to eliminate or reduce workplace hazards.
• Apply mechanical engineering to improve safety, ergonomics, and equipment operation.
• Lead projects from concept through implementation with cross-functional teams.
• Create drawings, specifications, and design packages; develop prototypes.
• Test, validate, and refine solutions; support installation and deployment.
• Develop standardized solutions for network-wide deployment across laboratories.
• Coordinate with suppliers, fabricators, and internal stakeholders; manage budgets.
