Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in San Francisco seeks a Lab Safety Engineer to lead the EHS department at the location, reporting to the AR EHS Global Lab Safety Manager. The role involves owning lab safety compliance, risk reduction, and guidance on occupational health and environmental regulations.

You will collaborate with HR, Engineering, and Facilities, ensuring California OSHA compliance while fostering a strong safety culture. Relocation support may be available based on criteria and needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience taking new designs through exploration, development and deployment.
• Experience with MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems.
• Experience with power management and power monitoring systems.
• 5+ years of project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Owning EHS compliance for a robotics research and development lab.
• Conducting risk assessments and driving implementation of risk reduction measures.
• Advising employees and management on occupational health and safety and environmental regulations.
• Advising and influencing designs around machinery safety requirements and standards.
• Implementing legal and internal Amazon requirements in occupational health safety and environmental regulations.
• Working with HR, Engineering, and Facilities.
• Ensuring compliance with California OSHA laws and guidelines.
• Evaluating accidents and statistics and developing prevention programs.
• Supporting environmental regulations and programs.
• Creating a safe work culture and promoting safety dedication.
