Job summary

VEIR, a Woburn, MA-based designer and manufacturer of superconducting power delivery systems, seeks a Lab Resources Manager. You will coordinate technicians and equipment, plan lab testing, and supervise staff across multiple campaigns, ensuring safe, efficient operations and external test partnerships.

The role requires 5+ years in engineering test/ops with leadership, plus a strong safety background and experience with external vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in engineering test, lab, or test operations with people leadership.
• Engineering background in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Strong safety knowledge (electrical, cryogenic, high voltage).
• Experience coordinating with external vendors or test facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assign and coordinate technician and lab resources across concurrent test campaigns.
• Supervise lab technicians and temporary staff.
• Serve as primary contact for engineers requesting lab support; triage requests.
• Plan testing activities and external test programs with partner facilities.
• Forecast staffing needs based on test volume and schedules.
• Own planning and scheduling for system integration testing.
• Track lab workload using shared tracking tools to keep a central view of commitments.
• Collaborate with engineering to sequence test campaigns and resolve conflicts.
• Manage lab budget, equipment capex, and spend; provide inputs for forecasts.
• Maintain lab organization, safety, and readiness across VEIR sites.
• Onboard new technicians and ramp-up; escalate risks when needed.
