Job summary

North Central Texas College’s Nursing Department seeks a part-time Simulation Equipment Support Specialist to assist in operating simulation and medical equipment. Based at the Graham campus, the role supports programs to align with curriculum and maintains equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include setting up simulation rooms, managing simulators, coordinating travel between campuses, ordering supplies, and ensuring equipment functions through routine checks.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree required; Bachelor’s in Nursing preferred.
  • RN licensure in Texas preferred.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide assistance in the technical operation of simulation and medical equipment for the Nursing Department of North Central Texas College. This role will support a variety of programs to ensure students are trained in a manner that is in alignment with the curriculum. This is a part-time position with no more than 19 hours of week. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Create a learning environment that enhances the student’s ability to use conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Oversight of all equipment, warranties, software/modules upgrades, supplies, and appropriate inventory
  • Program simulators management.
  • Set up simulation rooms
  • Ensure simulators are functioning properly with routine checks
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs as instructed by manufacturers as necessary
  • Travel to various NCTC campuses for monitoring and updates on simulation equipment
  • Ordering of supplies for the work area
  • Ensuring set up and break down of items needed for simulated activities.
  • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution.
Required Education

Associates degree in related field required.
Bachelors degree in Nursing preferred.
Possession of (or eligible for) RN licensure in the State of Texas preferred.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Must be knowledgeable in writing across the curriculum, study skill techniques, and communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, walk, climb and move bulky equipment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality
Preferred Skills & Abilities
Required Experience

Two (2) years related experience in maintenance, repair, and technical support of simulation equipment and/or medical device systems in a large healthcare delivery setting. Must have a working knowledge of medical equipment such as ventilators and defibrillators.

Preferred Experience

Experience in a simulation/training center environment. Background in health care strongly preferred.
