Job summary

Tarrant County College's Trinity River Campus seeks an Assistant, Nursing Simulation Laboratory to support nursing simulation labs, maintain equipment, and prepare materials for class sessions.

This part-time, on-site role requires flexibility for evenings and weekends to meet departmental needs; up to 19.5 hours weekly. The position supports students and faculty under supervision of the campus leader.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and three (3) years’ working experience related to the EssentialPerformance; or any equivalent combination of education andwork-related experience

Responsibilities

• Consults with faculty laboratory coordinator to determineequipment purchase priorities based on budget allowances, conditionof existing equipment, and scheduled laboratory activities
• Prepares and puts in place equipment scheduled for use duringlaboratory teaching sessions
• Cleans room and equipment, restocks supplies, and prepares thefacility for the next class
• Demonstrates care and use of equipment
• Provides basic instructions to students and faculty on the properuse and care of laboratory equipment following establishedprocedures
• Performs routine troubleshooting and minor maintenance oflaboratory and simulation equipment; escalates complex issues tothe Coordinator or appropriate vendor
• Provides feedback regarding equipment performance and operationalneeds to the Coordinator
• Maintains reference materials used by students
• Maintains and prepares classrooms, materials and apparatusescommonly used in healthcare simulation laboratories
• Inventories, orders and checks in materials and supplies andensures that good safety, housekeeping and security practices areadhered to at all times

Compensation Details: Starting Pay - $20.10

Work Hours: Flexibility is required as part-time workschedules may vary based on individual campus/departmental needsincluding evenings and weekends. Up to 19.5 hours per week,typically scheduled over 2–3 days. Weekday Position: Monday–Friday; approximately 3 days per week, 6hours per day. Evening/Weekend Position: One weekday evening (3–4 hours) plusSaturday and Sunday (approximately 7–8 hours per day).

Remote Eligible: This position is not eligible for remotework

Required Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• At least one (1) year’s working experience supportinginstructional laboratories in Healthcare or science-based academicsettings
• At least one (1) year’s working with simulation or skills-basedtraining equipment, including manikins and relatedtechnologies
• At least one (1) year’s working experience in Healthcare
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical terminology course(AAPC) or a course offered with simulation or skills-based trainingequipment, including manikins and related technologies
• Allied Health certification such as Certified Nursing Assistant,Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician.
• Associate’s degree in Allied Health or Nursing program
• Current Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to assist students and users in a laboratory setting andto work with faculty and staff in planning, organizing, andmaintaining the laboratory for the benefit of all
• Skilled in strong organizational skills
• Skilled in delivering high-quality customer service and buildingeffective interpersonal relationships, including strong listening,verbal, and written communication skills
• Skilled using computerized applications and enterprise systems,including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentationsoftware
